Dress Ups

In our family being manly is the main goal. Soccer, baseball, hockey, golf, football, climbing trees, wrestling, and every manner of active sport is present in our lives. For Christmas last year my mother and father put together a fun tub of props and dress ups to go with Family Home Evening lessons for the kids. There is a sword, shield, and helmet, a tiara and fur cape, and an Indian headdress. I didn't realize what a big hit the dress ups would be or I would have pulled them out much sooner. When visiting little girl's homes Micah is found in dresses and necklaces with a big smile on his face. I think there is just something about dressing up and being someone else for awhile. Isn't that why acting is so popular? Ok the money is probably a big draw there but you get the point. We took a few pictures of our play acting. Micah and Isaac also took photos, guess which is which. (We have not put away the extra mattress since my parents were here. We pull it out of the extra bedroom and use it as a wrestling mat on the days the boys didn't get enough exercise.)

I personally think that headdress commands attention; you should wear it when you need your kids undivided attention because they won't look away and definitely will take you seriously. . . :)

Natalie, I came over from LeMira's blog, I'm Matt's Mom.
This is a COOL BLOG!!
Just a note: Put a zipper cover on the "exercise mattress" and then put two old fitted sheets on it, one on each side.
Then when your relatives come and visit you take off the layers and they won't have a dusty mattress to sleep on.
