While I was in Houston in February, a good friend from church emailed and asked if I would like to take a cake decorating class. Now if you know me at all, you know that I can do about anything with mediocre results. I am not purposefully putting myself down or up as the case may be, in fact I wear "practically mediocre in everything" with pride. It is nice to be able to do just about everything with some degree of success (sometimes very little success). So back to my story. I decided that it would be fun and a good way to spend some time away from the wild animals at home.
Now that the class if finished I will say that while it was fun to be away from the kids and with my friend, I have not found my calling as a Domestic Cake Goddess. Really, I would prefer to go out and throw the football with my husband. It was however fun to laugh with Jamie as we put way too much nasty tasting frosting on uneven cakes. Oh and there may have been a few snarky comments in there as well!
I was able to show off my talents for Elder Frehner for his birthday. It was March Madness what can I say!

This is completely awesome that I know for whom that cake was made! Still hilarious that some kid from my podunk town is serving a mission there!
Oh, and I still think cake is cake -- yummy stuff (as long as it's not spice or chocolate). And you did a pretty good job! Are you coming to decorate MY cake in a month?!
Great job! While you may not feel this is your calling in life, they look great, and I bet they were yummy to eat too!! ;)
