Our town distributes big blue trash containers. Residents fill then up with junk during the week and they're picked up on Wednesday. On a typical week our bucket is half full on trash day, although on some especially trash intensive weeks we fill it all the way up and I need to jump on the partially closed lid to cram it all in there. I cleaned out the garage yesterday and our trash bin is now completely full, with three more days before it gets emptied.
Our garage is clean, but it may come at the cost of having to horde 1/2 a week's worth of garbage until our trash bucket gets emptied.
