The Great, Grandparent Caper Part I

Having my parents here for two weeks has been heavenly!  It has been the longest time I have had my father all to myself in forever. Though my mother has stayed with us for this long before it has been a real treat having them both together playing with us non-stop. I told my mother today that my house is always better looking after she leaves than any other time of the year. She smiles and replies that's the way it's supposed to be, a little pick me up. It has been that. So since we have been up to so many things these last two weeks I will take a page out of other's books and do it in parts. Otherwise the pictures will overwhelm you.

Grandma and Grandpa always bring gifts. These were from Uncle Jeff and Aunt Shana. They have gotten a lot of use and now the ice cream part is gone and the little plastic bullet looking thing in the middle is being used as a missle. watch your eyes!

Isaac and Grandpa have been found many times outside reading books. My father has the magic touch with Isaac. No one has been able to calm my son like my dad.

Grandpa brought his laptop with Bugs bunny, Marvin the martian, and snoopy cartoons on it. The boys were en rapt.

We had a good time blueberry picking but most of the blueberries Isaac picked ended up in his belly. Micah on the other hand did a great job helping me fill my bucket. We ended up with 8 pounds of blueberries. Talk about heaven, we have been eating them this whole time.

 At the farm where we picked blueberries they had these fun tractors that the kids could ride. It surprised me when Micah ended up being the better driver! Yes that is me telling Micah to not play bumper cars with Isaac.

Last and certainly least is the nasty caterpillar I found in our tomato plants. And can you guess what those white things are? If you said it's eggs........ you would be wrong. Those are wasps eggs laid on the caterpillar so that when they hatch they have food. Lets talk about the EWWWW factor here. My mom was like ok hold it so I can take a picture! Yeah it gave me the willies!

Along with all the fun things my parents have been helping me work on our house. My father helped me fix a door in our garage, paint the railings on our front porch, start working on window trim on our three season porch, and they weeded all of my flower gardens (which were horribly over grown with weeds!) My mother has organized my basement, helped me put shelving in the guest room, plan the quilt I am making for Micah, and they both have kept my kitchen spotless. It has been great to have them here.
