It is that time again. Yep that's right, we went to Storyland. For those of you who read this blog in the area..... (crickets chirp) it is a great place for young kids if you don't want to spend the moolah to go down to Florida and Disney. Our boys love it and we enjoy their enjoyment. This year we had Grammie and Grampie along, which made it that much more fun. 4 adults to 2 kids, who wouldn't like those odds? This year there was a new ride. You get wet, very very wet. The boys loved it because you squirted people with water guns. Need I go on? Or do you get the picture? I hope you enjoy these less than stellar pictures of the event. Each comes with a funny story, I promise!
This is us waiting in line for the new ride. It was the first one they wanted to go on when we arrived. Like I said, we got wet. We were walking around pulling our pants out of our you know where's for awhile and of course I happened to be wearing a white shirt. Ben laughed.
I call these the spinning buckets of puke, everyone else calls them fun. After riding them 3 times Ben finally realized you could spin them manually and make them go faster. (if you are asking who doesn't instinctually know that, you now have your answer!) He then road them 3 more times making everyone walk funny for awhile.
Micah sweet talked his Grammie into letting him get his face painted. Isaac of course wanted nothing to do with this. Spider man was the choice and he tried his darnedest to sit as still as possible. I am impressed at the lengths my children will go to when they really want something. People would call out "Hey Spiderman!" when Micah walked by and he would get really upset. "I'm not Spiderman, I'm Micah Lambert!" When he got into the tub that night there was a lot of tears when I said he had to wipe it off. "Why mom?" "Because you cant go to church looking like spider man!"
Micah charmed the ride operator into letting him talk on his speaker. "You're all done now!" was yelled into the microphone as he waited to get on. He then road the flying fish 3 times in a row because no one else was in line. Once again having Grammie and Grampie come with us came in handy. I didn't have to ride the rides that make me sick!
It was a big year for Isaac. He had grown tall enough this year to ride on the rides by himself. He insisted on just about every one that he was big enough to ride alone. He did really well in standing in line patiently and then telling the ride operator that he was big enough to go by himself. We were pretty proud! Play where's Grampie with this picture below, if you can?
And what would a family vacation be without a few very haphazard family photos. This is real life people, we don't normally look like something out of a catalog! Oh wait, you all knew that already.
Love, Love, LOVE this photo of those 3. HAHAHAHAHAHA, classic!
